About the Course

The authors Drs Pope and Vasquez draw on their professional experience, empirical studies, and case examples to examine the ethical responsibilities that confront psychotherapists and counselors in their day-to-day practice. They offer insights into contending with the sometimes competing demands of clients’ needs, formal ethical principles, personal values, and evloving legal standards in a range of areas—including fees, informed consent, sexual concerns, confidentiality, documentation, and supervision. Please Note: There are other editions, but this exam is based upon the 1998 2nd edition.

Kenneth Pope rreceived graduate degrees from Harvard and Yale and is in independent practice as a licensed psychologist. He has chaired the Ethics Committees of the American Psychological Association and the American Board of Professional Psychology. Melba Vasquez received her Ph.D. degree in counselling psychology from the University of Texas, and is a psychologist in independent practice in Austin, Texas. She serves on the APA Board of Social and Ethical Responsibility.
