About the Course:
This course examines identifying, screening, and assessing substance misuse in older adults. It includes: Challenges to identification, screening, and assessment; screening for misuse in older adults, screening for co-occurring disorders and conditions; communicating screening results; conducting brief assessments and interventions; conducting full assessments for substance misuse; and treatment planning, referrals, and treatments. This is a clinical based course.
This course is based on the reading-based online, TIP 26-Treating Substance Use Disorder in Older Adults-Chapter 3 created by SAMHSA in 2020.
