About the Course:
This course addresses treatment issues in pretrial and diversion settings in substance abuse treatment in adults in the criminal justice system. It includes: characteristics of the population, treatment services in the pre-trial justice system, trial and post-verdict periods, diversion to treatment, what treatment services can reasonably be provided in a pre-trial setting, treatment issues, developing pre-trial treatment services.
This course is based on the reading-based online article, TIP 44-Substance Abuse Treatment for Adults in the Criminal Justice System-Treatment Issues in Pretrial and Diversion Settings created by SAMHSA in 2014.
