About the Course:
This course explores integrating motivational approaches into treatment programs and directions for future research. It examines: the treatment continuum and stepped care, applications of motivational approaches in specific treatment settings, and future research. The treatment settings are: the emergency department, obstetric clinics, medical settings, motivational interviewing and the marijuana check-up, the Matrix Model for drug users, Motivational Enhancement Therapy (MET), an African-American centered application of motivational intervention, adolescents with multiple drug problems, women with multiple vulnerabilities, short-term residential treatment program and group settings.
