This course focuses on brief therapy in substance abuse treatment. It includes: research findings, when to use brief therapy, approaches to brief therapy, components of effective brief therapy, and therapist characteristics. It explains the entire process of brief therapy: screening and assessment, the opening sessions, goals of treatment, subsequent sessions, maintenance strategies, ending treatment and follow-up.
