About the Course:

This course presents the “how tos” of helping clients who face depressive symptoms in the early phases of substance abuse recovery. It contains representative vignettes of counseling sessions with clients with depressive symptoms, how-to descriptions of specific counseling techniques, and master clinician notes and comments. Decision trees assist at key points in working with clients with depressive symptoms (e.g., when to refer and when to use a variety of differing counseling approaches). *Course materials are from Part 1, Chapter 2, found on pages
