This course is recommended for health care professionals, especially addiction counselors, psychologists, mental health counselors, social workers, criminal justice officers, and nurses who seek knowledge about girls’ delinquency. It is appropriate for an introductory to intermediate level of participants’ knowledge.

Course Objectives:

  1. Describe the trends and context of violence by teenage girls as well as the causes and correlates of girls’ delinquency.

  2. Identify the factors that protect against delinquency.

  3. Acknowledge the suitability of assessment instruments for delinquent girls.

  4. Discuss the girls’ delinquency programs and the developmental sequences of girls’ delinquent behavior.
