About the Course:

Why are the children of alcoholics more likely to become alcoholic? Or marry an alcoholic? What kinds of problems do they face in adulthood as a result of their childhood experiences? What can we do to help adults who grew up in alcoholic homes – or are now involved with others who did – and want to understand their childhoods and restructure their lives? This book has come to be known to hundreds of thousands of C.O.A.s and A.C.O.A.s and will help answer those questions. It is meant to help the reader understand the roles children in alcoholic families adopt, the problems they face in adulthood as a result, and what they can do to break the pattern of destruction.
