Those certified must accumulate 20 hours of Continuing Education (20 contact hours) per year with 6 in ethics every other year and 4 in counselor specific HIV/AIDS also every other year. Documentation of these are to be submitted with the maintenance fees. provides printable certificates for easy documentation of courses completed.
Renewal is on a quarterly schedule based on initial certification date. Those certified in January, February or March would renew in January. Those certified in April, May, or June would renew in April. Those certified in July, August, or September would renew in July. Those certified in October, November, or December would renew in October.
