Addiction Counselor CE’s distant learning courses are available for continuing education credit for MFT’s, as set forth by the Texas Board of Examiners of Marriage & Family Therapists.
LMFT
30 credit hours every 2 years by licensure expiration date (birthdate month).
Of the 30 credit hours required for renewal, all 30 may be earned through distance learning courses.
At least 6 of the hours obtained must be in the area of ethics and 3 hours in cultural diversity or competency. These hours may be counted toward the total number of hours required.
To maintain supervisory status, a supervisor must successfully complete a minimum of 3 hours of clinical supervision continuing education each renewal period and pass the jurisprudence examination.
Licensees providing telehealth services must complete 2 hours of continuing education in technology-assisted services. These hours may be counted toward the total number of hours required.
LMFT Associate
15 credit hours every 2 years by licensure expiration date (birthdate month).
Of the 15 clock hours required for renewal, no more than six (6) clock hours may be delivered through a learning format that does not accommodate real-time interaction, such as self-study correspondence course or pre-recorded webinar.
At least 6 of the hours obtained must be in the area of ethics. These hours may be counted toward the total number of hours required.
*All licensees are required to undergo an HHSC approved human trafficking prevention training course as a condition of renewal, in accordance with Chapter 116 of the Occupations Code. Approved training courses can be found on the Health Care Practitioner Human Trafficking Training webpage.
Hours may not be carried over from one renewal period to the next renewal period.
CE Learning Systems has been approved by NBCC as an Approved Continuing Education Provider, ACEP No. 5951. Programs that do not qualify for NBCC credit are clearly identified. CE Learning Systems is solely responsible for all aspects of the programs.
