Our distant learning courses are available for continuing education credit for addiction counselors, as set forth by the Pennsylvania Certification Board.
Addiction Counselor CE, a service of CE Learning Systems, is approved to offer continuing education courses by the Pennsylvania Certification Board (provider #455). CE Learning Systems maintains responsibility for the courses.
All credit hours can be distant learning (online/homestudy) for both initial and recertification. Initial certification is 100 hours.
*NOTE:*Most of our courses have been submitted to PCB for approval. However, very new courses may not yet be approved. Required Recertification Hours
All credentials require 3 hours in PCB approved professional ethics and responsibilities.
Acceptable trainings that would meet this requirement are: ethics related to human
services, HIPAA, confidentiality, and mental health law.
*AAC, CAAC, CADC, CAADC and CCJP*- 40 hours of PCB Approved Education relevant to addiction.
CCS – 6 hours of PCB Approved Education specific to one or more of the clinical supervisor domains Assessment/Evaluation, Counselor Development, Management/Administration, and Professional
Responsibility).
*APS and CPS*- 40 hours of PCB Approved Education relative to prevention with 3 in ethics.
CAAP – 25 hours of PCB Approved Education relevant to addiction with 3 in ethics.
Certificate of Competency in Problem Gambling – Recertified at the same time as your qualifying credential. Submit the appropriate number of PCB approved hours of education for your qualifying credential, including 6 hours of PCB approved gambling specific education (within the total number required for your credential).
