- North Carolina Psychologists
Addiction Counselor CE’s distant learning courses meet qualifications for continuing education credit for psychologists as required by the North Carolina Psychology Board. Addiction Counselor CE is a service of CE Learning Systems LLC, which is approved by the American Psychological Association to sponsor continuing education for psychologists. CE Learning Systems maintains responsibility for this program and its content. No provider number is listed because the APA does not issue a provider number.
At least 15 credit hours must be for Category A courses.
3 credit hours for Category A courses in ethics.
Category A vs. Category B
The NC Psychology Board distinguishes between Category A courses and Category B courses. This is is summarized in the Board’s “CE 101 document” (https://www.ncpsychologyboard.org/continuing-education/CE%20Reference-Guide-March-2022.pdf)
- The program is sponsored by CE Learning Systems LLC, an APA-approved CE sponsor.
- Credit hours are clearly indicated for every course for psychologists.
- A CE certificate is issued immediately upon course completion.
- All courses help the licensee maintain and upgrade skills and competencies within his/her scope of practice, and/or covers ethical and legal issues in the professional practice of psychology. Obviously this one is subject to your own educational needs and requirements!
One more point applies to most of our courses, but not all: to qualify for Category A credits, a program must specifically identify psychologists in the target audience statement. This statement will be found under the heading Recommended For on the details page for any course. If psychologists are not identified specifically, or if there is no Recommended For heading for that course, then the course does not qualify for Category A credit. However it would qualify for Category B credit.
