Approval for Counselors in Ohio
Ohio Counselor, Social Worker and Marriage and FamilyTherapist Board
General Information
Addiction Counselor CE’s distant learning courses are available for continuing education credit for Social Workers, Counselors, and MFTs, as set forth by the State of Ohio Counselor and Social Worker Board.
Social Workers and MFTs may complete all of their 30 CEUs thru distance learning as defined in paragraph (A)(11) of rule 4757-9-06. This change went into effect on July 3, 2010 with the change to rule 4757-9-04.
Counselors can complete only half (15) of their 30 CEUs through distance learning.
Counselors and MFTs must fill out a Post Program Approval Form for each course completed.
To obtain the Post Program Approval Form, please go to : http://www.cswmft.ohio.gov/reqren.stm#8 and select the appropriate form.
30 credit hours every two years from date license was issued.
3 credit hours must be in ethics begining 12/31/2003.
6 credits must pertain to supervision.
Two of our programs are specifically NOT approved: “What Color is Your Parachute” and “A Training Guide for the Early Childhood Services Community.”
Addiction Counselor CE, a service of CE Learning Systems, is approved to offer continuing education courses by the Association of State Social Work Boards (ASWB #1020). CE Learning Systems maintains responsibility for the courses.
