Our distant learning courses are available for continuing education credit for addiction counselors, as set forth by the Louisiana State Board of Certification for Substance Abuse Counselors.

48 of 48 credits may be distant learning every two years at odd and even Dec 30 and June 31 renewal dates.

Applicants for addiction counselor certification may substitute up to 270 hours of AEP education for up to 18 semester hours of college credit in substance abuse counseling courses. Applicants for compulsive gambling counselor certification are required to have 30 hours of AEP education in compulsive gambling. Applicants for prevention specialist certification may substitute 450 hours of AEP education for 30 semester hours of college credit in prevention related courses.

Louisiana also accepts 270 hours of distance learning for initial certification hours.

Addiction Counselor CE is a service of CE Learning Systems. CE Learning Systems is approved to offer continuing educations courses by ADRA (AEP # E012), NAADAC (#410) and many ICRC certification boards. CE Learning Systems maintains responsibility for the courses.
