Addiction Counselor CE’s distant learning courses are available for continuing education credit for MFT’s, LCSW’s, LPC’s, as required by the Georgia Composite Board.
It appears you can’t have any more than 20 credit hours per course.
35 credits in the licensing renewal period may be distant learning (online/homestudy) courses. We received clarification from the Board on 2/11/03 that our distant learning (online/homestudy)courses are different from their use of the word “independent study”. Independent study is a self-developed course, which is not the same as a formal developed distant learning (online/homestudy) course approved by a sponsor of a national organization.
5 credit hours must be in professional ethics. We understand from reading the state regulations that the 5 credits in ethics can be provided by our distant learning courses, since we are approved to offer CE credits by the national accrediting organizations. Our courses are NOT considered independent study courses.
Addiction Counselor CE, a service of CE Learning Systems, is approved to offer continuing education courses by the Association of State Social Work Boards (ASWB #1020) and National Board of Certified Counselors (NBCC #5951) and American Psychological Association (APA). CE Learning Systems maintains responsibility for the courses.
